"The Boy Who Heard Music" will have its premiere dates on July 13th and 14th at Vassar College's Powerhouse Theater in Poughkeepsie, NY. The show will feature new material from the Towser, as well as songs from Endless Wire and his solo efforts, Lifehouse and Psychoderelict.
The effort was originally supposed to be a film starring Johnny Depp as Ray High, Townshend's semi-autobiographical character, under the direction of famous Python Terry Gilliam, but no serious plans appear to have surfaced. It's unknown if the show will have additional performances.
As of now, Townshend and The Who are busy with a European tour scheduled to end on July 9th in Helsinki, two days after headlining the Roskilde festival in Denmark.
*It seems that something is up with his site, so I've used the Internet Archive to sort of give readers a source of the materials. The PDFs are wonky, don't try them. You can navigate if you're at least a bit tech-savvy and can click on the "Archive" links at the right of the page. I'll update this if Towser's web hosting improves in the next few days.
